Getting to know the Sound Designer.
Welcome visitor! My name is Kyle Gusmano and as you may have seen already, I am a designer of the sounds. I absolutely love to create and design sounds. So a little bit of back story is that I originally was interested in Voice Over work. Then once I went to college (graduated with a B/A in Cinema/ Television) I recognized another passion of mine which came to be Screenwriting. But along the way as I took a few audio and radio classes, I started to become fond of sound design. I was making projects where we had to create a scene using script writing and voice over along with sound scaping. Out of everything that I had accomplished throughout the schooling, completing one of these projects was the most rewarding. I might even go as far to say that it was more fulfilling then receiving the actual degree that I had worked so hard to achieve. Through the combination of script. sound, and voice I like to paint an image in your mind that becomes vivid enough to the point where physical visuals are no longer necessary but a bonus. And all three of those aspects are equally as important while creating a sound scape. First when writing the script, I have to be able to mentally hear how I would like a character to sound and the emphasis on certain letters or words that will bring he or she to life. Next, I have to apply what I heard in my head, now into the mic using the same mental notes that were taking. And lastly (and this is the fun part) I have almost no limits as to editing the voice that was created. With that said, I now would like to dive a little further into the wider design of sound scaping and its limitless possibilities, when creating a world, I want others to experience. The best part is, it only takes two ears and a little IMMAGGGIINNAAATTIIIOOONNN!
